For Sale: Medical Durable Goods Manufacturing Company Lamico, Inc. An American Made Crutch Company In 1963 the owner decided to make one item and make it right. He introduced the world to laminated wooden crutches and revolutionized the way they were built. The name was then changed to Lamico. 44 Years, and 30,000,000 (30 Million) pair later Lamico, Inc. is looking for someone to carry on the tradition. A complete manufacturing system for wooden and aluminum crutches. Includes wood working machines, paint system, and complete injection - blow molding plastics department to produce latex free parts. All items are produced in the United States under the Lamico, Inc brand name, using latex free accessories. We've been in the crutch business since 1963 and are currently selling our products World Wide. Due to the retirement of the owner we are seeking someone to take Lamico to the next level. With rising foreign competition sales have slipped over the past 8 years. In the recent past (late 1990's) we produced over 1,080,000 pair in one year, with a net profit of over $1,000,000. The potential is there for the right investor to bring it back to it's former glory and beyond. What is being offered in the sale? Competition: Competition from Asia with under priced, inferior products has softened our market. In 44 years we've produced and sold over 30,000,000 pair of crutches Worldwide. Large market base 6 Billion people Worldwide. Currently Lamico is the only US crutch manufacturer that has the machine capacity to produce over 1,000,000 pair per year, (our 1997 output).

Growth/Expansion: More Worldwide exposure with Domestic and International Trade Shows may help boost volume. Adding additional Ambulatory products to the line up may be helpful. Some importing of lower end products may help widen sales.
