Competition: UPS is the industry leader. While FedEx and DHL also achieve success with shipping, they have not established a strong retail base, as UPS has. The UPS Store has 3 main competitors in the area including a Fedex/Kinko's. While they also carry a brand name and are more experienced at document services, they lack the expertise in packing and shipping. They also do not provide the same level of customer service. The other two competitors are independent shipping stores that are much smaller and higher priced, and therefore less appealing to consumers.
Support/Training: Two weeks of franchise training take place in San Diego, CA. An additional two weeks of training in Houston, TX is required.
