Would you like to own a business that transforms individual s lives in sixteen weeks? Down economic times often act as a catalyst for self improvement. In as little as twelve weeks (usually 14 to 16), an individual with a high school degree can become a court reporter making an average of $45,610 as a starting salary. Furthermore, contract reporters average $80 per hour. The Department of Labor predicts an increase in demand of 25% as new laws mandating real time speech to text conversions of legal proceedings, university classes, and closed captioning. The market is there for someone with a little time and a little marketing skill to earn a living or make a lot of money. There are no obstacles in the way.
Facilities: This is run from home but can be run anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection. Advertising, sales, training, and tutoring are all done via an Internet connection. You can work from an office, your basement or a coffee shop. You will need about 1 hour per student per week working in a place where there is not much noise. Awesome job for a retired court reporter or will give 6 months of training and certify new owner as a court reporter.
Competition: There are competitors out there. My school charges in the lower range of tuition and provides better software and equipment. The Department of Labor says that demand for this profession will grow 25% in the next 2 years. It is a great time to get into a booming industry. A student can go to college and spend four years to get a $40K job. Or a student can spent 16 weeks and get a job making $45K, which is the median wage in this profession as per the Department of Labor. I think this has great appeal.
Growth/Expansion: I am in negotiations with three colleges at the moment.I have presented to two and they are requesting more information. I have a friend who teaches law and is working on getting it added to the spring schedule. See more at AlliantBrokers.com
